“Panoramic Retreat ” is a luxury beach house where you can get away from it all and unwind as a couple or with family and friends. Located right off the beach, the house was designed to maximise the breath-taking beach views on display. Enjoy them from the comfort of the living room or step out onto the deck, soak up the sun, and take in the beach from end to end. Be sure to linger on the deck as night falls and you will be treated to a gallery of stars exhibited by the night sky. Split into two parts, the house is deceptively spacious. Upstairs, an open-plan living area has room for everyone: consisting of two sitting areas, a dining space, and a modern kitchen with all the extras, before flowing gracefully onto the large deck outside. A cozy mezzanine level above the kitchen provides place for relaxation where you can snuggle into the bean bags for an afternoon siesta or get lost in a good book. Downstairs you will find the bedrooms and bathrooms. Stunning interior décor throughout combines modern elegance with rustic undertones by incorporating elements of the original cottage in the design. The bar leaner, floating shelves, and staircase were all hand-crafted from the original rimu framing of the former cottage. NOTE: Bed linens and/or towels are available for additional fee. Tea towels, hand towels, and bath mats are provided. Liquid hand soap, dishwashing liquid, dishwasher tablets and toilet paper are provided. Accommodation is either 2 bedrooms or 4 bedrooms. The 2 bedroom option is for up to 5 guests: The first room has a queen bed + single bed, and the second room has a queen bed. There is a full bathroom including tub with access from the hallway and directly from the second bedroom. Base rate is $250 for 2 people and additional $25/person. The 4 bedroom option is for up to 8 guests: Additional to the above, a third room with a queen bed + single bed, and a fourth room with a queen bed. There is second bathroom available for these two rooms. Flat rate of $400.00/night for the four bedroom option and $25/person/night for guests 9 and 10. There is an additional fee for bookings between 20 December and Waitangi day weekend and public holidays and school holidays and minimum stays during public holiday weekends and school holidays. Arrival after 3pm and departure 11:00am. NOTE:: There is a Nespresso capsule machine - you need to take your own capsules. It doesn't do milk options. NOTE: Stays longer than 5 nights have access to the washer and dryer. Located only 90 minutes from Christchurch airport, Gore Bay is a great beach for surfing, swimming, and of course lovely walks on the beach or in the surrounding reserves. Bring your racket as the newly resurfaced tennis court is right next door (the deck looks out onto the court). There are two playgrounds located in Gore Bay, one at each end of the bay. There is no cell phone service, or shopping available in Gore Bay. The house comes with included wifi and Cheviot is a short (8km) drive or bike ride away to any necessary amenities including groceries/butcher/fuel/café/etc. There is a bike trail in the Cheviot reserve near the cricket grounds, and there is also the Cheviot golf course to enjoy.
