This self catering warm, three bedroom house is situated at Peketa, a small settlement 12 kilometres south of the Kaikoura township, close to the surfing beach at Kahutara. Tastefully set up with re and upcycled modern furniture and appliances this holiday home makes a low impact on the environment. Open plan lounge has a log fire which is very effective at heating the whole house in the cooler months with a two seater leather couch opposite which is an ideal spot for reading in front of the fire. Open large bifolding doors to a superb deck and outdoor entertainment area in a large private garden, fenced and safe for children. Surrounded by trees where native birds, including the bellbird, abound. We now also have two resident Tuis. The occasional booking of this holiday home pays for its outgoings and maintenance. There are plenty of activities nearby including bush and beach walks, star watching, restaurants, golf course, surf casting, fishing, snorkelling, the Albatross encounter, diving and swimming. The Mount Lyford Ski field is one hours drive away and of course there is the whale watching, swimming with the dolphins, and seals..There is an Eco zipline for the more adventurous over Rakanui valley which is just behind the bach. The house has a full kitchen with microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, spice rack. Sorry no dishwasher though. TV, free Netflix, DVD and video, CD Player, washing machine, drier, iron, gas BBQ and fridge/freezer also available. Pitza oven is for owners use only...sorry Plenty of off street parking for boats and room for tents in the sheltered garden and a Hammock. There is also a fish filleting area There is no cleaning service so renters need to clean the house before vacating. As the owner lives two hours away it is more convenient if renters bring their own linen ie sheets for the beds, pillowcases, towels and tea towels although there is a linen hire service available for an additional cost of $25 per person if needed especially for overseas bookings.
