Aotea Homestead & Cottage are the prefect place for a getaway with family and friends. The beautiful Aotea homestead was built in 1914 and has recently been lovingly restored. Located on a working sheep & beef station in the Hinakura Valley, 25 minutes east of the Martinborough wine village and is only 16 km from the Pahaoa Coast, which offers great fishing at the river mouth. With no cell phone reception and limited wifi, it is the perfect place to enjoy quality time with each other. Linen and towels are provided so all you need to bring is your food. There is an unmarked lawn tennis court, great sandpit for the kids and outdoor games. Guests are welcome to enjoy a walk on the farm, where there are animals to feed especially around springtime. The river is nice and close complete with a lovely swimming hole and the rugged coast line is only a 20 min drive down the road. There are also horse treks 40 mins away. If the weather isn't great there are board games available and sky tv to watch. There is also seasonal fruit available, and our water is sourced from a natural spring. Aotea offers two types of accommodation that are approximately 50m apart. Homestead The self contained wing of the Homestead has its own entrance & privacy, Sky TV, and two separate lounges, one with fire. Homestead can sleep up to 13 over 3 bedrooms 1st Room- King and 3 singles 2nd Room - Queen 3rd Room - Double and single Extra beds: fold out sofa bed and single roll away bed Cottage The rustic little 1800's cottage has two bedrooms and can sleep up to 5. 1st Room - Double and Single 2nd Room - 2 Single beds We also offer guided hunts for both wild pigs and deer.
