About this Holiday House

Raumati is synonymous for its safe swimming, fishing and its great Cafes. Add an expansive beachfront property with all its amenities and comforts of home and you have the ideal recipe for your family's next unforgettable holiday experience. 40 min drive from Wellington, 10 min to Lindale farm and handy to Raumati Village, it has beautiful views of south island and Kapiti island. It is very handy to shops and cafes too!! Three living rooms provide ample space for relaxation and open onto a huge timber deck - just perfect for outdoor living. Four bedrooms (main-ensuite) and other living areas easily accommodate 14, maximum of 16. A bigger group can be accommodated with the help of the flat downstairs which can sleep an extra 6. PS: Please don't forget to pack the boogie-boards and sea kayak. Kids are okay but not toddlers. Smoking outside the house permitted. Two nights minimum stay during weekends. Three nights minimum stay during the long weekends and New Year. The rate mentioned is for upto 4 adults. Per adult / child per night additional. Discount offered on week+ stays. Linen supplied on request at an additional charge.

We recently stayed bringing three families (5 adults, 7 children) together for a family catch up. The location and house layout was excellent- it is 10 mins walk to cafes and restaurants! We had a great time. There were some issues with the house - limited hot water, BBQ not working and some of the kitchen equipment needing to be replaced - but we found the owner to be very open to our feedback and support during our stay good. You stay here for the location. It isn’t luxury accommodation or anything - but a good Bach for a kiwi style family break. I probably would not have more than 12-14 stay in the house as you will be sleeping on sofa beds etc.

Great house in a prime location on the beach but very badly run. The house was expensive for our family so we were expecting great things. On arrival I cleared up some rat-infested, stinking rubbish from a previous occupant that was in the woodshed allocated by the owner to our dogs. I asked for the rubbish to be removed but no-one came. Likewise a request for a spare gas bottle to replace the already empty one on the barbecue. Not particularly clean, no soap in the bathrooms etc. You get the picture. Owner said he was away travelling and to contact the lady in charge. Except she wasn't answering phone or email. She did exist as she rang us once on the first day just before we got there. We had a good time but I would make sure the house is being looked after better.

Thanks Catharine for the feedback-we are very glad that you had a good time at our bach as it is definitely a great house in a prime absolute beach front location - all our tenants thank us for sharing our home with them. Regarding the costs for the bach, the charges are comparable to similar absolute beachfront premium properties in New Zealand. Photographs on the website enable our prospective tenants about what to expect when they choose to rent it- hence all our tenants are very happy to pay the costs as they make a pre-informed decision. All the reviews on the website are testimony to the fact that the property, its location and the million dollar views far exceed people's expectations. We apologise for the rubbish left behind by the previous tenants as we clearly state that rubbish does need to be taken away by the tenants- our cleaner was unaware that they had left it in the shed! Most of the times, tenants do not ever need to use the shed and hence she would have left it till the next rubbish collection day. Regarding soaps, we always have extra soap refills under the kitchen sink and in the bathroom vanities- we will mention this henceforth in our instruction sheet in case future tenants do not know where to look for it. It is very difficult to predict the gas consumption by the various tenants and hence the bottle does empty out in between the tenancy- the gas station is within 5 mins drive from the house though. Anyways, provision of a spare gas bottle is now made to avoid future inconveniences. Since I was travelling overseas with my family, I was not able to answer your demands then and our caretaker was also unfortunately out of cellular coverage due to an emergency- hence could not respond causing a few inconveniences but she had made sure that everything was prepared for the tenants to enjoy the weekend well. Once again, we are happy that you had a good time when you were there as everyone does.

The above rates are for the main bach. There is a one bdrm flat downstairs (does not have an internal access), which can be rented @180/night in addition to above if your group is big. The whole property can accommodate upto 22 people.
