About this Holiday House

Peaceful with stupendous Bay and beach views, adjacent several picturesque walking tracks. Free Wifi, complimentary pick-up from ferry or flights. Complimentary vehicle for your use which we ask you to top up with petrol before leaving. Many species of native birds both visit the property or fly past - land and sea species. The beach has a range of visitors from penguins(nest locally) to fur seals and sea lions. The last piece of New Zealand as it used to be. Private but friendly, helpful. Ringaringa cottage is next but one to the golf course, Ringaringa Heights. Clubs can be hired from the Flight Centre. A number of local people offer kiwi tours, Ulva Island tours and walks. Fishing Boat trips, birding, extensive walking trips available apart from local walks. Always bring sturdy shoes/walking boots and a rain coat and warm clothes. Weather is changeable but the native bush is lovely and welcoming to all. House manager, Andrea Young, 0273071330, can help you settle in and will meet the ferry or plane as required.

Special Amenities

sea views, morning sunrise, almost private road, secluded section, quiet with many species of native birds, penguins nest close by, kiwi feed on beach, and kaka & weka visit but please do not feed. Modern cottage set in landscaped garden, mixture of natives and roses. This cottage is recently carpeted, has Freeview Tv and wifi, is double glazed. Electric range has been installed & deck includes roomy conservatory. Kitchen fully updated April 2023 and bathroom vanity replaced. A complimentary car is available, please top up the petrol before you leave. A clothes drier is available for emergencies.

Special Attractions and Activities Nearby

Wonderful beaches, walks, long and short, native bush, varied scenery, fishing. There are fishing charters, birding guided and self guided and easy access to Ulva Island where guided is the best way to see all species but water taxis can take experienced birders without guides. Great cafes, pub, Kai Kart, library for all.

The cottage overlooks a Bay and out to the sea ..It’s very quiet and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others .We had a wonderful stay . The Island itself is a paradise.There are a great many things to see and do .From the Museum to Kiwii Viewing .Lots of hiking and the local people are so helpful .Andrea met us and was easy to contact .Having a car was great .We stayed 5 nights and feel reborn .
