About this Holiday House

Fabulous views over HalfMoon Bay and out to the Titi Islands. Watch the sun come up over the water from the deck (or bed!) and experience the island's birdlife from any room, day and night. A comfortable, renovated but character family cottage with original charm but modern convenience and located to allow you to experience all the Island has to offer. A short walk to shops, hotel and ferry, minutes from Bathing Beach and close to Church Hill restaurant. Kamahi Cottage is an unforgettable delight. From the deck and sunroom, almost everything the island has to offer can be glimpsed. Bush birds such as kaka, tui, bellbird, tomtit, kakariki, wood pigeons, fantails come and go with the seasons; seabirds such as the great mollymawks, the excitable terns, oystercatchers and skua’s come and go with the weather; on summer nights the calls of the little blue penguins that nest below in the cliffs and bush can be heard. Out to sea, beyond the heads, the illusion of the ‘Two Sisters’ lie head to head as if trapped in time and myth. Behind these, Ruapuke and the coast of Southland appear seemingly from nowhere. The wonderfully varied shapes and colours of fishing boats arrive and depart with the tide. The sun rises out of the sea, the full moon lifts over Lonnekers Beach, and at the suggestion of rain, countless rainbows emerge.

If you are looking for a perfect spot in a retro-style cottage with a beautiful view onto the bay, this is your spot! What a lovely house. Plenty of room, well equipped kitchen, big shower and warm, and so nicely decorated. We ended up only using the front room where you can see the bay (and Kaka's nibbling on wood ;-) )

Close to town amenities. Beautiful view. Very cozy and comfortable cottage. Highly recommend!

Clean, comfortable and relaxing with a stunning view of the harbour. The kitchen was very well equipped with a full oven, stovetop coffee maker etc. This is a beautifully renovated character house. We didn’t want to leave and enjoyed all the books and magazines and nice bathroom and bedrooms. The cottage was five minutes walk to the ferry terminal and the picturesque village of Oban. We didn’t want to leave.
