Just a few minutes’ walk from the township of Oban, this cute little A-Frame house will delight all who stay. Tapatoru House has been our home for the past 4 years while the big renovation was underway from the floor to the ceiling. We need to leave Rakiura for a while so this house is now available for the first time for holiday rental. This is a true bush setting and there is usually plenty of birdlife. With tui, kaka, kereru, fantails, kakariki and bellbirds quite often visiting during the day and sometimes even kiwi at night. Well equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, water filter, gas hob, electric oven, slow cooker and microwave. Toiletries and a range of teas and coffee and basic supplies - oil, flour, milk, seasonings etc. TV/movies are via a projector and screen (your own Netflix or other account can be used), unlimited wi-fi, books, games. Double glazed windows and fully insulated with a fire to keep you warm if the sun hasn’t been shining. Firewood is supplied. Access is up some DOC style steps from the road so please pack your luggage with this in mind as wheeled suitcases may not be suitable. Note also that the bed is situated on a mezzanine floor accessed via a ladder staircase. More photos of this to come soon but if you are unable to climb stairs then this may not be the place for you.
