My husband and I stayed at Tuki Vineyard Cottage for my 40th birthday weekend in December 2016 (part of a wider 3 week trip to NZ). The cottage itself is in an idyllic location, facing the vineyard and surrounded by stunning countryside. The accommodation is modern, well maintained (comfortable bed and crisp clean bed linen) and is also very well equipped for self catering. The exceptional hospitality shown by the owners Mike and Jo was very welcome; on arrival we were provided with a complimentary bottle of Tuki Vineyard wine, a great selection of breakfast supplies (including free range eggs delivered by the friendly Tuki hens) and an excellent information pack on the local amenities. The property is perfectly placed to explore this beautiful area of Hawkes Bay being very close to some of the major wineries in the region such as Craggy Range, Te Mata and Church Road (we very much enjoyed visiting the cellar doors while there). There are also some fantastic restaurants close by at Black Barn Vineyard, Craggy Range and Porters Hotel (Malo). With some great beaches in the vicinity (Ocean Beach less than a 30min drive) and stunning views from the Te Mata peak there is lots to see and do. On the recommendation of Jo we also visited the farmers market in Hastings which was a great option for lunch when we left on Sunday. Tuki Vineyard Cottage is a perfect retreat for a couple to escape to.....our only regret was that we did not have some more time to spend there.

What a fantastic way to end our two week honeymoon around NZ. Finishing the day with a glass of wine looking out over the vines the grapes came from was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. The cottage was exactly as described on the website, had everything we needed, and was clean, comfortable and fitted to a high standard. Special mention of the delicious fresh eggs laid by the friendly chickens. The location of the cottage is great, conveniently close to Havelock North but far enough away to ensure the countryside peace and quiet is preserved. Being right on the cycle path route is a bonus as well, we very much enjoyed our cycling wine tasting tour between the inland and coastal Havelock North wineries. We had an excellent time, and would definitely stay again. Thanks heaps Jo and Mike!

I don't normally post reviews online, but when I became aware of the unfair feedback from Evert, I decided to provide my own review. We had a fantastic stay at Tuki Vineyard Cottage. It is clean and sunny with a beautiful aspect looking straight down the rows of Merlot. The bathroom and kitchen facilities are modern and the furniture is beautiful art deco - fitting in well with the region's famous architecture. The linen was luxury and we slept wonderfully. We enjoyed the breakfast provisions, including home made lime & ginger marmalade. The chickens and the fresh eggs were a treat - I'm afraid we were guilty of feeding them on the deck but they were certainly not a nuisance. The wine is gorgeous - we bought extra to take away with us. The cottage is compact and well organised. It is not huge, but it doesn't pretend to be a lodge! I encourage people to ignore the poisonous pen of Evert and form your own view. You won't be disappointed by Tuki Vineyard Cottage. Tim.

Hi Tim, thanks for your nice review. I'm pleased you like the marmalade. We've just made a whole lot of mini-jars of Red Doris plum jam for cottage guests as well. Cheers, Jo.
