Underfloor heating, a cozy log burner, heaters in the bedrooms and endless gas hot water ensures you are always cosy and warm in the winter. Upstairs the cathedral ceiling kitchen, living, dining and sun deck (with BBQ) makes the most of the magic mountain views. This open plan area with a double oven, 6 ring gas hob and cafe style coffee machine offers the ideal space for family dinners and entertaining. The bedrooms are spacious and inviting. A little over 60 minutes from Christchurch the Castle Hill Basin and Craigieburn range offer fantastic summer and winter recreation; walking, fishing, biking, climbing, caving and skiing. Ski Areas within 15 minutes drive include Porters and Cheeseman - great family fields, or for the more adventurous the club fields of Broken River and Craigieburn are 20 minutes away. Castle Hill Rocks offer great bouldering and climbing and the tramping in the area is outstanding as are the mountain bike trails. If however you are looking for a slightly slower pace this is a stunning area just to soak up, relax and unwind. The village boasts a children's playground, tennis and basketball courts, petanque area and 9 hole (slightly rough) golf course.
