Welcome to Tuangi, Cockle Cove This newly built family beach house is a delightful and well-appointed get away nestled into the corner of Cockle Cove in native bush. It is only 30 minutes by water from Picton. It is a peaceful and private site with great sun and views of both native bush and water well worth the walk up from the beach. The house has three bedrooms, two queen size beds, and one double/single bunk. There is a bathroom with shower and bath as well as an ensuite with shower only. There is plenty of hot water and great water pressure. The house is supplied by filtered creek water. There is a TV with freeview (weather permitting) along with a DVD player, DVDs, books, jigsaws and games. There is a signal booster for Telecom and Skinny. We do not provide Wifi. The large deck is ideal for barbeques and eating outside. There is outdoor furniture for relaxing and just soaking in the views listening to the abundant birdlife. There is a resident matuku moana (white faced heron), tui, korimako (bellbird), kereru (woodpigeon), karearea (falcon), kotare (kingfisher), and the friendly weka as well as seabirds. There are only three properties in the bay and a shared floating jetty. The beach has all day sun in summer and is child friendly. There are also three kayaks and a small dinghy for your use while renting Tuangi. Please be mindful and respectful of the other guests and/or family in the other two properties in the Bay. Miritu Bay is known for its native bush, picturesque scenery, fishing and sailing. There are a number of bush walks nearby and the local Bay of Many Coves Resort welcomes guests for coffee and meals. However, bookings are advisable. Please note that this is a family holiday home that is rented occasionally to contribute to the running costs. Therefore, you will be sharing space in the fridge and pantry. Food can be ordered from Picton Fresh Choice online before you arrive and either delivered to your choice of water taxi or click and collect. Please note: No road access, access is only by private boat or water taxi. Minimum four-night stay. No pets permitted. It is a non-smoking property. Check in is after 2.00pm. Check out is 11.00am
