About this Holiday House

This charming farm house is such a fun way to experience the outer Marlborough Sounds. Set in the middle of Akaroa Station in Anakoha Bay it is one of three holiday lets set amongst a huge lawn and garden area. The cottage was built in 1910 and has been updated throughout with a modern kitchen and renovated bathroom. Bedroom 1 - King Bed Bedroom 2 - Queen Bed Bedroom 3 - Set of single bunks with roll out trundler, set of King single bunks. This bach is a perfect base if you are planning to fish throughout the outer Marlborough Sounds or perhaps you just want somewhere to escape to with a book and watch the tide come and go from your window. The wood burning fire doesn't take long to heat up the living areas and there is a seperate laundry with an extra toilet. We have 2 double kayaks and a single to share. Two of which are able to hold your fishing rod and tackle gear. Drive through Akaroa Station in Anakoha Bay to find a group of 3 bachs sharing a huge lawn area and native gardens. Hire 1 or check out the others to book more for larger groups. We have a linen service available at $20 per person (lovely fresh bedding and towels). Otherwise you will need to bring your own. While there are 3 bach rentals close by and the main farm house up the drive, you will still feel secluded and have a sense of privacy with plantings offering natural privacy. Each bach is positioned in different areas of the sloping lawn and all have a different outlook onto the bay. See the aerial photo attached. Te Puka Bach at Anakoha is a delightful place to stay. We really enjoyed our time there with lovely surroundings, a log-burner to ward off the autumn weather, comfy beds , a good shower and well equipped kitchen. Our hosts Nick and Chloe certainly went above and beyond with their hospitality so many thanks to them.
