About this Holiday House
This is a lovely warm 3 bedroom home that captures all day sun with a native bush outlook and a fantastic view of the Coromandel harbour from the upstairs living room. Bird life is abundant in this area providing a natural soundtrack of tuis singing, swooping wood pigeons (kereru), quails, and even returning kaka at certain times of the year. The beach, within easy walking distance, is safe for kids and even has a floating pontoon for jumping off. There is ample space in the garage if you need to store any gear when not in use and it also contains a filleting table, bait freezer, BBQ, and outdoor table for those relaxing evenings after a days fishing.
The house is very close to Hannafords Wharf which is where most of the fishing charters depart from, as well as the Fullers360 ferry if you'd rather arrive by boat. If you are bringing your own boat, then there is plenty of boat parking on the front lawn or driveway and the Sugar Loaf boat ramp is minutes away for that early morning fishing trip. Coromandel harbour is a great fishing area providing quick access to mussel farms and the surrounding islands, which provide shelter from the wind when needed and some fabulous diving spots.
A selection of mussels, oysters and fish and chips is available at the Coromandel Oyster Company shop at the end of Te Kouma Road, and they will even cook your freshly caught snapper for you. A short 15 minute drive will take you to Coromandel town which has a range of places to eat and shop, as well as local attractions such as The Waterworks theme park, Coromandel Gold Stamper Battery, Driving Creek Railway and many walking tracks. Whangapoua beach and the larger town of Whitianga are an easy drive away across a fully sealed road.
