About this Holiday House
Plywood lined, corrugated iron clad bach. Located on the Te Akau peninsula at Okere Falls the bach works as well for a couple or a family. The bach, deck and lawn have a nice combination of bush and lake outlook. Inside is a lounge, master bedroom with a queen bed, a second room with three single beds, kitchenette, and bathroom. Outside is a large deck, outdoor table and under a covered pergola is a hooded BBQ with a side gas element for cooking. There is also a single element benchtop hob and sandwich press in the kitchentte. Inside the decor is plywood with a mix of colours on the doors, light fittings and furnishings. The Te Weta Bay reserve is three houses away (less than 100 metres) for swimming, kayaking and boating. Use of a jetty and two sit on kayaks is included. The jetty is in a sheltered bay and you can leave your boat tied up at the jetty when staying without having to drive to a ramp to put it in and out of the lake each time you use it. The renowned Okere Falls store is 30 minutes walk away or a short drive for a morning coffee or an afternoon beer. This is a new bach. It is well insulated and double glazed so is easy to get and keep warm over winter. There is a selection of extra blankets in case you need them at night or when enjoying an evening drink under the stars out on the deck and a heater inside. The drive has a corner in it and the parking area doesnt allow for turning a trailer around easily which means that larger boat trailers may need to be parked in the drive or on a roadside grass verge nearby. We leave our 5 metre boat in the water at the jetty when staying at the bach and have the empty trailer only on the bach section.
