Special Amenities

Come and laze on the lawns beneath the mature fruit trees and then take a dip in the freshwater swimming hole on the property - can be chilly but amazingly refreshing in summer! There are also spectacular bush and river walks up the valley, as this is a former gold mining region, and along the coast. Our bach is situated in a delightful coastal village with the beach a short stroll away where you'll find the friendly Waiomu Beach Cafe. The town of Thames, with great markets, cafes and facilities, is a short drive along the coast. [Note - cell phone coverage can be variable]

Special Attractions and Activities Nearby

The beach is safe for children and you can swim, kayak and fish there; if you like messing about on boats, there's also a boat ramp. Beautiful drive north following the coast road to Coromandel Town or south to Thames for the Saturday market in Grahamstown, museums, sports activities, supermarket and plenty of shops. Delighted you enjoyed 'Round Two' - we look forward to welcoming you back when the weather is more settled and hopefully warmer!

My wife and I had a very comfortable stay here for eight nights. There is everything you need to live and enjoy life even when it rains every day you are there. Leaving the car on the road and walking over the very wet lawn was a nuisance but Sara's advice to do this rather than park on the lawn was very timely. We had visits from three ducks and seven quails each day' and one day there were three pheasants in the garden. Sara was a very helpful and attentive host from a distance. Very enjoable stay. Cafe Melbourne in Thames and Waiomu Beach cafe locally do good small meals.

Thanks so much for your feedback; yes, we enjoy watching the bird life - such a relaxing way to enjoy the day! Do hope you can book in again soon.

We had an awesome time staying in your lovely home. We would highly recommend it especially for families and hope to be back sometime soon. It was raining so we did struggle a bit getting in and out to our car on the road. But just a minor problem.

Delighted to hear you had an awesome time despite the abysmal weather! Do hope we can welcome you back again soon.
