About this Holiday House
Built using straw bale construction and recycled wooden doors and windows, this bespoke, sustainable 3 bedroom house oozes rustic charm.
The house is powered by solar, off-grid electricity. Rain-water is collected off the roof for use in the house. As there is a limited supply, we ask that you be conservative in your usage.
The home is very warm and comfortable with shabby-chic décor.
There is a double bed, a queen bed, and a futon-sofa bed. On the veranda, a special feature of the house, is another queen size bed (my favourite spot to sleep in the summer).
The house is set in 7 hectares of self sustaining wilderness garden. You will find wild flowers, trees and regenerating native bush, overlooking the ocean and north facing valley, which is home to a large variety of wildlife.
Walking tracks will lead the wandering explorer to ponds with geese, ducks, native birds and other wild creatures.
There are 3 friendly sheep down the paddock, beehives behind the house and roaming geese.
You will see me briefly each morning when I come to feed the geese.
