The local store and Challenge service station are both just a couple of minutes away for daily groceries while Turangi is just over 10 minutes South and Taupo less than 40 minutes North for the bigger shops. Within 15 minutes you can be fishing the world-renowned Tongariro River or any one of the closer, more intimate rivers (Waiotaka, Waimarino, Tauranga-Taupo). The lake beckons swimmers, boaties, fishers, skiers and kite-boarders into its clear waters and sandy beach. A public boat ramp is just 2 minutes drive North at Mission Point. There are some lovely walks within half an hour’s drive with the Central Plateau mountains and Taupo tourist attractions a little farther afield.
