About this Holiday House

Kutakuta is a beachfront Bach in Ngakuta Bay, the Marlborough Sounds. The view makes this little piece of Aotearoa rather special. It’s just a 20 minute drive from Picton along the Queen Charlotte Drive and is nestled amongst the best Queen Charolotte Sounds has to offer – water sports at your doorstep, and cycle and walkways a plenty. The bach itself is pure Kiwiana. It’s a much loved family bach that has many original features. It’s functional and cosy, things that many NZ families adore. It's a blast from the past. We do use this bach whenever possible, so there are some personal items. We hope you’ll see this as part of the charm of the place. I’m going to let the photos do the talking. Please note: You’ll need to bring your own linen – sheets, towels and tea towels. Could you please leave the bach as you find it (clean and tidy) in true NZ fashion. Enjoy your stay.

Special Amenities

This bach offers amazing views of the bay. Just sit on the wooden steps and take it all in day or night. The stars can be stunning at night. Enjoy the private setting and the large expanse of grass leading to the sea. This is great for cricket and football. Kids like to ride their bikes and play in the creek so take all your gear. It’s fun here. Plenty of room to park you boat on site. Sorry no mooring available. The water supply comes from the community tank so please use water mindfully. It’s not a town supply.

Special Attractions and Activities Nearby

Picton and Havelock are a 20 minute drive for supplies. Blenheim is 40 mins away and the vineyards are almost on your doorstep. If you’d like to trek a portion of the Queen Charlotte Track, Anakiwa (The home of Outward Bound), is close by and you can order a sea taxi to pick you up from the Ngakuta Bay jetty. There is a public boat ramp in the Bay and some awesome safe beaches. Kayaking is popular here and water skiing is right in the bay. Ngakuta is a haven for birds and there’s a community push to be predator free which means the area is full of bird-song.

So pleased the sun shown and you got to use those kayaks. Imagine finding a book about your grandfather too amongst our old collection. It is a small world. Thanks for doing such a spectacular clean too. Thanks for booking KutaKuta in Ngakuta.
