Montrose is a family historical seaside villa with sweeping views over Warrington Beach. It has lovely private attributes and the house is large giving bigger groups great operational space. You can relax on the deck and watch your friends or family enjoy a spot of tennis or kids can have fun on wheels. Extensive lawns and gardens give the perfect lush setting for you to unwind and enjoy your stay and for the kids to explore. The house is suitable for a group of up to 4 couples with two extra single beds. It was built in 1927 using original kauri timber salvaged from the historic 1880 military barracks on nearby Taiaroa Head. A large central fireplace heats the main lounge and creates a beautiful aesthetic with a smaller additional fire installed in the kitchen. The lounge also has a big floor mounted heat pump. The grounds support lawns, flower and vegetable gardens. There is a full size tennis court with rackets (bring your own balls)some should be available. The beach and back bay are both visible from the house and are considered safe for swimming. The property borders the small domain out the bottom section gate which accesses the entrances (The domain has a children's playground and surf club). Blueskin Bay is a 5 minute stroll to the right. Shallow inter-tidal flats are great for paddling, cockles and crab hinting under rocks with kids. The Orokanui Sanctuary which houses Kiwi, Kaka, Takahe and many other rare and indigenous species is very close within a ten minute drive. The house is spacious, private and peaceful. It has wonderful character and different and varied spaces for the whole family to spread out relax and enjoy. Warrington has a lovely small friendly community and there are great nearby coastal areas to explore including the old Seacliff hospital gardens and Karitane village with its picturesque inlet/beach and dairy. Beds and bedding are excellent quality and made up ready for your arrival. Bathroom facilities include a beautifully restored main bathroom with toilet bath and shower. There is also an additional separate toilet washroom at the other end of the house. Throughout the house are period furnishings and lighting. From various vantage points including the kitchen and upstairs room you can overlook the garden and beach. Special conditions: The price quoted is for two adults. Further guests have an additional cost. Children priced as adults. Any damage during your stay is to be notified prior to departure and paid for if required. Smoking area available outside on the covered deck. Guests are expected to strip their bed sheets, collect towels etc into a pile or piles, do dishes and put away as found on arrival, pack up all rubbish, and leave the house tidy with everything put back in cupboards as found. We appreciate this as the house is large. The cleaning fee covers general cleaning and also the cost of supplying fresh linen/ towels with beds beautifully made up on arrival. We do not charge a pet fee so your animal related cleaning is your responsibility prior to departure (inside and out ;-)). Wood for evening fires is supplied, is wetback connected and is cost inclusive. Please ensure gas and electricity use stays within normal limits. Excessive use will attract an additional cost. Please turn all heaters, electric blankets etc off when the house is not occupied for times during your stay and do a sweep to check off when you leave. Please do not unplug everything just flick switches. Check in is 330pm on check out 1130am
