As a right of reply we feel this was an unfair comment. We were overseas when the request came in. From overseas I employed 2 cleaners, one a student, the other a professional cleaner. The professional cleaned the bathroom and kitchen, the student spring cleaned the pink room. They both were offended by the feedback and the student said; the house is old but I definitely put the work in and cleaned well" . However some rooms such as the downstairs family room were not done as we do not usually include them and they missed some obvious tidying. We don’t usually let out every room certainly not the laundry which was commented on. I had paid theses 2 over $200 to clean and also apologised to the renters for the omissions and reimbursed them $200 to make up for the gaps. We entertain here a lot and it is insulting to have this comment about our own home. What of the positives-the excellent wifi, closeness to town, free parking and extensive garden. In any case we will make sure not to rent the house or any part of it out again without being here to oversee and will endeavour to improve.
