About this Holiday House

Located at Tiraumea on a working sheep and beef station, which is 1 hour north east from Masterton or 45 minutes east of Pahiatua. Lodge style accommodation for single, family or group bookings. Campervans welcome. Formerly a shearers quarters, the lodge can sleep up to 38 guests in 12 bedrooms. The self catering kitchen with fridge/freezer, microwave. 2 ovens is fully equipped. Please advise if you want to book the entire lodge otherwise there is a chance that you may be sharing the accommodation with other guests.

Children may like to feed the hens and the donkeys, see the lambs and calves in the spring time or see the sheep shearing at shearing time. Within 1 hour drive are the beautiful Waihi Falls, Akitio Beach, Pukaha Mount Bruce Wildlife reserve, and the Tui Brewery.

We stayed with a combined group of adults and kids. This is a backpacker lodge so not so ideal for children. The lodge was clean but had funky smell on the first day then probably we got immune to it. Kitchen was well equipped and clean. The beddings were clean. Dara, one of the owners, was very kind, humble and considerate. She was nice enough to fulfil our requests. She brought her lambs to show our kids. Overall, we had a good stay at this place. My suggestion for the owners would be to install a fan in hot summers as it gets really hot and humid.
