The two bedroom apartment in itself is great, it's very spacious and has everything there that you could possibly need. The views are spectacular and it's close to Tauranga CBD, Mt. Maunganui and a number of shopping centres. The beds were comfy and there was ample spare linen, pillows and towels etc. When you look at the interior and exterior of the apartment it appears to be an unfinished project and looks like it's been that way for some years. This aspect does not detract from the comfort level of the place, however finishing off the various jobs especially on the inside would make the apartment more attractive, as would a fresh coat of paint. I'd give it 4 stars if that was done. The only really disappointing thing was the cleanliness of the place. It wasn't filthy but it wasn't clean either. The kitchen floor was sticky and had to been cleaned twice to get rid of the stickiness. The shower recess required a good scrub before use and the shower curtain was not clean, (not too sure what was on it but it didn't look too good), bathroom tiles were not clean. The kitchen needed cleaning, the stove top, microwave (it's also rusty inside), cutlery and the drawer had crumbs and hair in it. The top of the fridge is not clean and when the fridge goes through it's defrost cycle water runs to the bottom of the fridge and out the door onto the floor. Probably a blocked drain hole?? If the apartment was finished off, clean and maintained it would definitely receive 5 stars from me. We spent a considerable amount of time cleaning on our first day there, while we were there and on the day before we left including cleaning around window frames, window sills, the bathroom tiles as far up as we could reach, so the next people staying there probably thought it was reasonably clean. Other than all the extra cleaning we had to do we had a great time there and we hope the owners take note of our comments and do a better job on the presentation of the property. By the way the garage parking is only suitable for small vehicles and parking outside the apartment is limited but manageable.
