The 5 star ratings you see are accurate. Leith and Margaret are really the hosts with the most-we enjoyed all the hospitality! We wish we could have stayed for a longer holiday to enjoy more of the area and hope to be back. Also, the view really is as lovely a view as the photos show from the massive windows and glass guards around the deck, and it even changes over the day(s)!

We spent a lovely few days at Tirohanga, as a family of four. The apartment is perfect and had everything we could possibly need. The views are amazing and it's the ideal place for relaxing and unwinding. Marg and Leith (the owners who live upstairs) were very welcoming and generous with their time and advice. It's very close to the Queen Charlotte Track and the Link Pathway so great opportunities for walking and biking - and of course any water activities with the beach close by. Would highly recommend.

Words can't adequately describe how much we enjoyed our short stay at Tirohanga. From our first pre-booking communication with Leith and Marg, they were absolutely fantastic in responding to our various questions and requests. We felt like we already knew them well even before our arrival. When we arrived, they both came out to greet us and made us feel immediately at home. Throughout our time with them, we felt like family rather than paying guests, and we were able to share many stories and laughs together. Despite the weather being quite unsettled for 2 of the 3 days there, it didn't deter us from getting out and about. Like perfect hosts, Leith and Marg offered to take us out for a leisurely guided tour around the inner sounds on their boat and even provided bread for hand feeding the blue cod, and freshly baked scones and a warm coffee to enjoy in one of the many bays. For the cost of a donation to cover fuel, it was really worthwhile and we enjoyed hearing the local stories from Leith - something that you can only gain from living and holidaying in the sounds for the almost 3 decades that this wonderful couple have spent in and around Anakiwa. The apartment is every bit as good as described, with wonderful sea views from the wrap around windows that provide you with a more than 180 degree vista looking up the sound beyond Picton and towards Tory channel. It is immaculately presented and more than fully equipped for a luxurious "spoilt for choices' holiday. We will definitely return to Tirohanga not just for the breathtaking scenery and spectacular accommodation but also to enjoy the wonderful and genuinely warm hospitality of Leith and Marg. Thank you both for a memorable stay.
