About this Holiday House
Te Wai Tahi
(the one in unison with the water)at the waterfront in the heart of the Mapua village, yet far enough away to have your own peace and tranquility at the waters edge.
At high tide the water comes right up to the deck, at low tide you can watch the birds from the comfort of the couches in the lounge, coffee in hand. Binoculars, games, books and 'bachy' items are all in the living spaces.
Ideal for kayaking, (2x sit on Kayaks on site plus several different sized life jackets) paddle boarding (bring your own), fishing, walking or simply reading a book. If you bring your own bikes you can lock them up safely in the shed.
The Mapua wharf, boulevard, stunning galleries, restaurants, live music, local craft breweries and wine bars, cafes and a variety of ice-cream shops, fish and chips and smoked fish, and a local market on weekends are all within easy walking distance (a few minutes along the estuary or via the footpath).
There is also a large 4SQUARE supermarket a few minutes walk away in the other direction - it has everything you may need. There are hair salons, a medical centre, a pharmacy/chemist, petrol station and garage, library(open for visitors), and the most delicious bakery! - no need to pack any food or supplies before your trip.
More about birdlife:
Depending on the season you can observe white or grey herons, kingfishers, spoonbills or banded rail. There are also families of of pied stilts, oystercatchers and gulls.
