180 on Hereford is a one-bedroom corner apartment on the third level in the Christchurch CBD, for business travellers and couples who'd rather not stay in a hotel room. Walk to meetings, Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre, and the city's cafés, restaurants, and bars, then come home to a west-facing balcony, a proper kitchen, and a double-glazed queen bedroom where you can close the windows and shut the city out. The apartment is on the third level and sits on the corner of the building. There's no lift: it's two flights of stairs up from the ground floor, so pack with that in mind, and it isn't suited to guests with limited mobility. The bedroom has a window with sheer and full curtains, so you can let the light in or close it right down. As in all our Christchurch homes, the queen bed is made up with professionally laundered, hotel-standard linen, with fresh towels to match. There are bedside tables and lamps either side, a built-in wardrobe with mirrored doors, and its own wall heater, so it's warm on a winter night without running the whole apartment. The bathroom has a walk-in glass shower, a heated towel rail, a good-sized vanity, and a hairdryer. There's no bath. A small laundry cupboard off the living area has a front-loading washer-dryer and a tub, so you can travel light. There's no car park with this apartment, but there's paid parking directly across the road. - Living areas- The living room opens onto the balcony through floor-to-ceiling glass, with city views and the afternoon sun coming straight in. There's a deep orange velvet sofa with an armchair, a good-sized smart TV on a timber unit, and a heat pump with air conditioning that keeps it warm through a Christchurch winter and cool on a hot nor'west afternoon. The round dining table by the window seats four: breakfast for two, a long dinner in, or a workspace with the city outside if you're here for work. There's no separate desk but fast Wi-Fi is included. With the windows closed, the double glazing takes the edge off the city below. - Kitchen - The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking proper meals, not just reheating: a wall oven, cooktop, dishwasher, microwave, and a full-size stainless fridge-freezer, with a kettle, toaster, and a coffee plunger. There's a pod coffee machine on the bench, so the first coffee of the day is sorted, whether it's before a meeting or a slow Saturday breakfast on the balcony. The drawers and cupboards are stocked with pots, pans, and storage containers, and the pantry cupboard has a rice cooker and an air fryer, which make a quick dinner in easy after a long day of meetings or exploring. - Outdoor space - The balcony is the reason to book. It faces west over the city, so it gets the sun from early afternoon through to sunset, and it's set up to use: two chairs and a small side table, with the city skyline in front of you. A cold drink after the last meeting, a glass of wine for two as the light goes, and the city carrying on below. - Wi-Fi and welcome - As in all our Christchurch homes, you'll find a starter pack of teas, coffee and milk for a cuppa when you arrive, plus coffee pods for the machine. There's a cold L&P and biscuits waiting too. 180 on Hereford is managed by the BookaHome team, who have been running holiday homes in Christchurch for 14 years. We're local, we reply quickly, and we're easy to reach if anything needs sorting during your stay. - Location - The apartment is right in the heart of the Christchurch CBD, the city centre, with the riverside, the laneways, and the city's main venues all within walking distance. - On foot: - - Cathedral Square: 5 minutes - Te Kaha stadium: 6 minutes - FreshChoice City Market supermarket: 6 minutes - Otakaro Avon River and the city promenade: 7 minutes - Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre: 9 minutes - Riverside Market: 10 minutes - Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetu: 12 minutes - Hagley Park and the Botanic Gardens: 29 minutes - By car: - - Christchurch Hospital: 9 minutes - Lyttelton: 16 minutes - Sumner Beach: 18 minutes - Christchurch Airport: 20 minutes Walk to the conference, the match, the market, or dinner, and come back to the balcony with the city lit up outside. - Good to know - Check-in is from 3pm and check-out by 10am, with early check-in or a later check-out sometimes possible if the schedule allows, so message to ask. Entry is keyless, by a keypad lock on the apartment door, with your code sent before you arrive. It's the only code you need, so a late flight in is no problem and there's no key to collect or return. There's no car park with the apartment, but paid parking is directly across the road. The apartment is on the third level, up two flights of stairs, with no lift. The whole apartment is smoke-free, including the balcony, and pets are not permitted. Quiet hours apply from 10pm, in keeping with the building. For anything that comes up during your stay, message us or call us, and we respond quickly. -Who it suits - Two kinds of guest feel at home here, and plenty are both. Business travellers walk to Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre and CBD meetings, set up at the dining table with the city outside, and skip the hotel room. Come back each month and it becomes your own city base, with a full kitchen and washer-dryer so you can travel light. Couples come for a city break: Christchurch's cafés, restaurants, and bars on foot, a match at Te Kaha six minutes away, Riverside Market on a Saturday morning, and the balcony as the sun goes down.
