Mapua is 3km away where there is a wharf with restaurants fish and chips outlet, coffee shops, burgers and real fruit ice cream, a wine bar, two pubs with one that often has music on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. There are several boutique shops you may like to look through. Rabbit Island is a lovely flat sandy beach approximately 10kms away Fifteen minutes in the opposite direction you will pass through Motueka which is a lovely town with a Sunday market and skydiving out by the airport if you are looking for a thrill. Past Motueka another fifteen minutes away you could visit Kaiteritere Beach with it's golden sand and a vibe of it's own. The Riwaka resurgence is another nice swimming spot. Takaka has a salmon farm where you can go to catch your lunch, eat it there or take it with you and enjoy a picnic at Pohara Beach or one of the other many beautiful beaches out that way. There are so many options you can choose from for an enjoyable day's outing from this location and when you return there is an inviting spa waiting for you to unwind and relax in.
