Ideally located on Kitchener Street, the main entrance to town, this grand 1872 Homestead is one of Martinborough’s very first houses.
Generously proportioned, with 14ft6 stud height & many original features, this house is typical of the grand villas of this era.
The kitchen/dining room is at the rear of the house & has two sets of French doors, a wood burner & a good supply of cookware, plate ware & stemware in the walk in pantry.
The Study/Library has a firebox, Sky TV & a comfy sofa.
The Lounge offers a charming mix of vintage seating & modern art. And is perfect for relaxing or more formal entertaining.
The bedrooms are beautifully presented, with new carpet, luxurious beds & beautiful drapes. With the largest having French doors opening out to the verandah, overlooking the vineyard.
The twin room is ideal for children, with a 3rd bed on the mezzanine floor.
For the more adventurous, there is a secret bedroom, accessed by a vertical ladder at the rear of the house.
With expansive grounds, including the 10acre vineyard & an abundance of sheltered spaces, there are plenty of ideal setting for relaxing in the shade on a sunny day, or dining on those balmy Wairarapa evenings.
