Special Attractions and Activities Nearby
Some of the best water skiing in the south island is to be had at Lake Kaniere. Close to the West Coast Wilderness bike trail so it's a great place to stop for the night between Kumara and Hokitika to get a hot shower and shelter for the night.

We (a family of four) really enjoyed our stay at Stuart St House.
Situated in an idyllic location, this is an archetypical kiwi ‘no-frills’ bach, in keeping with its location. It has everything you need, with the added bonus of a superb log burner to keep the place toasty warm. It’s a great place to get away and decompress. Would love to go back again one day.

Nice quiet house in Lake Kaniere, well stocked with essentials, comfortable beds and good shower. Sunny outdoor patio out the back makes this a nice place to stay.
