About this Holiday House

Whananaki Lodge Whananaki Lodge is a Christian Trust for family RETREATS and OUTDOOR ADVENTURES for youth. The facility is a rustic lodge located in beautiful Northland. We encourage strengthening of families and opportunities for young people to experience adventures away from city life where they can be challenged to develop to their fullest potential. We are located in a quiet residential neighbourhood with beautiful surroundings and close neighbours. Perfect for small school groups, youth groups, family getaways or retreats. This is not a venue for loud parties or celebrations with high alcohol use or excessive noise. We have a little Cottage out the back which is an extra $65 a night if required (plus cleaning fee of $40). You can add this to your booking of the main Lodge.

Special Attractions and Activities Nearby

RECREATION OPPORTUNITIES Whananaki is a typically beautiful east coast Northland holiday haven. Just 50 metres from the camp is the estuary, which is ideal for safe boating, windsurfing, water-skiing, canoeing, fishing etc. Across the estuary is a sandspit partly covered in a pine plantation. A footbridge across the estuary boasts a reputation as being the longest in New Zealand. Within easy walking distance of the camp is beautiful Motutara Point with its many rocky coves. A trek south along the coast takes you to the Capitaine Bouganville Memorial. Following the coast road north will take you to many beautiful beaches, some sandy, some surf, others shingle. Ideal for coastal sea kayaking, sailing, fishing, snorkel or scuba diving, surfing, swimming, or just lying on the beach away from the crowds.
