We absolutely loved this house, the location is very quiet with picturesque outlook over estuary to Waitangi bridge and beyond. The house is surrounded by bush and you can hear beautiful morning birdsong. The house is very comfortable, we stayed in July and the fireplace heats the whole house, alternately there is a heat pump. The master bed was lovely and ensuite bathroom small but perfectly adequate. We didn't use the other bedroom or bathroom. Kitchen very well stocked with equipment, plus basics like tea and coffee etc. We took our own food and cooked there, but Treetops at Haruru Falls is close to supermarkets at Waitangi and Paihia, plus of course all the restaurants at Paihia - its all just a short drive away. Yvonne was easy to contact and very pleasant and friendly. I am hoping we will stay here again, as it suited us perfectly. A definite 5 stars from us!

Stayed here from 31 August 2020 to 6 September. We did not meet Yvonne but she is a very thoughtful host. This house is in a great location for visiting the Bay of Islands. It has a wonderful view from the deck out to sea. The house is wonderfully stocked and very peaceful at night. My wife has a major sleeping problem and her sleep is affected by light coming in through the curtains and Yvonne told us that they were block out curtains but my wife found that the light did come in very early in the morning. When we were there it was quite cold in the evenings and we could not get the heat pump to work properly and it had a motor that could be heard from a long way away. I spoke to Yvonne and did get the log burner working but we are more used to a heat pump. There is a restaurant called Sage at Paroa Bay Winery in Russell. You can eat there enjoying a million dollar view of the bay. I really enjoyed their restaurant. Great holiday and we enjoyed comfortable chairs in the house. The first holiday rental in New Zealand we have found the chairs comfortable,. We found a road from by the Haruru falls which went into Waitangi and onto Paihia (mainly gravel) which had some lovely views out to sea and a harrier on prey on the road as we drove along on one occasion. Absolutely lovely place. Clean, comfortable and very spacious. We also loved sitting out on the deck, what a gorgeous view! Yvonne was wonderful to communicate with, very helpful, welcoming and kindly allowed our dog to stay at Treetops too. The house is is in a perfectly quiet spot, but only minutes from town. Wish we could have stayed longer than our 5 nights.
