Matakana Village Cottage Chalet is a self- contained one bedroomed Chalet/Cottage right in the Matakana Village. (Now with additional QS bed sleepout)It is stylish and private. Recently re-decorated with interior décor reflecting a 1930’s vintage, the doors and windows are colonial in character. A separate day bed is available in the lounge area. French doors open to a brick patio with outdoor table setting and sun umbrella. The kitchen has all necessary facilities with sink bench, microwave oven, refrigerator, electric kettle and a bench-top hot plate. The locality has amazing native bird life including tuis, wood pigeons, kaka, kingfishers as well as Pukekos and harrier hawks. These are regularly seen from the patio. Its an easy walk to downtown Matakana to enjoy the local village amenities... restaurants, cinemas and Art Galleries and an interesting variety of shops as well as the great Saturday Market. Our chalet is in a great central location to access wildlife reserves at Tawharanui and Goat Island, to visit galleries at the Matakana Country Park, and to sample the vintage at 28 local vineyards.
