About this Holiday House

Renovated two bedroom cottage in Arthurs Pass Village. Great views over the village and North up the valley. Easy access to popular walking tracks, village cafes and train station. Formerly called Woodsmoke, there is no fireplace. The bach has just been renovated with a sliding door to the main bedroom, new double glazed windows in the lounge & bedrooms, double glazed sliding door onto a deck on the north side and new heat pump. The interior walls are polyurethaned plywood with a slight white wash. The double bed and fold-out double sofa bed are both new. To keep your costs down there is no cleaning service provided so please clean before you leave. Note that sheets, pillowcases towels etc are NOT provided. However, duvets are provided. Please be aware this is an authentic Arthurs Pass bach - a mountain cabin of about 42sqm. It is recommended for ascetic persons, looking for simple accommodation. The flush toilet is in an annex to the entrance porch. Woodsmoke is an ideal base for tramping, mountaineering or Coast to Coast race training. Short 950m walk to cafes and Visitor Centre. Note that there is a railway through the village and coal trains arrive then pass through most nights.

The Alpine Cottage is a great place to spend a few days when relaxing in Arthur's Pass. Or as a base for climbing, tramping or skiing. The cottage has everything you need to be comfortable. You can cook all your meals as it has a stove and oven and all utensils, pots and pans. The big deck is a great place to catch the sunshine in the colder months. I loved trainspotting while here. All in all a great experience. And you will be toasty warm with the top notch heatpump.

Cosy little house well located in the village. Our 2 years old had a blast watching the trains going through the tunnel. Best for 4 guest but can go up to 6 people with the convertible couch, however the couch mattress is not very comfortable. The owner is very friendly with good communication, highly recommended, we will probably come back again.

Perfect for a couple of nights stay with 2 friends. Everything you need provided but no wifi or TV so you need to be self sufficient for indoor entertainment 😊 Glorious outdoor surroundings. Love to stay again.
