BBQ area on deck off living area. Table and chairs upstairs deck and downstairs as well. Tui and Kereru land on Kowhai tree next to deck. Off street parking ,Boats usually park on wide berm.

In summer, it's a short walk down to the lake for swimming and kayaking (kayaks provided) All year round, there are also forest walks within the Pukawa Bay and surrounding area. Our favourite restaurant is a 10 min walk or 2 min drive away at Oreti Resort. 10 mins drive are Hot mineral pools at Tokanu. Next door to the pools is a lovely short walk through the hot springs in the bush. 15 mins drive away is the small Shopping centre of Turangi, which sits on the Tongariro River renowned for its Trout fishing. River Rafting is available here, as is transport to Tongariro National park. The Hare and Copper on Grace Road Turangi is another good restaurant. The Turangi Bakery has the best steak and blue cheese pie in the country. The tourist centre of Taupo town is an hours drive away, it has a full range of shopping and services. Tours on the lake go from Taupo, Huka Falls, Craters of the Moon, Thermal Terraces Hot pools,Kiwi Santuary. Golf courses can be found in both Turangi and Taupo. 50 mins drive away is the World Heritage site of Tongariro National Park for winter skiing and summer forest walking or more ambitious climbing. The Sky Waka Gondola runs all year from the Whakapapa side. NOTE: If you are planning on walking the Tongariro Crossing , be aware that you need to book a bus from Turangi as you can no longer park. I think they leave at 8am.
