The ski season is here – Omori is great place to stop for few days skiing with only a short drive to Whakapapa 40 minutes and 1.5 hours to Turoa. Decks have now been stained, which should help with both looks and maintenance. Even if you are not a skier there is plenty to do around the area including hiking, fishing on the lake or the thereby rivers. WIFI is connected, and you have unlimited access. A new front door also with an electronic lock will make getting in easier with a code being able to be sent to your phone. A tantalizing view of the lake can be seen from the house and deck. The lake which is just down the road is extremely popular for trout fishing, water skiing and swimming. The houses in the area are surrounded by trees and so there are an amazing amount of birdlife, and the nearby bush walks by the lake are lovely. The Tokaanu Hot Pools are a short drive away as is Turangi with its cafes and climbing wall. Taupo is 45 minutes away, a scenic drive around the lake. Or you could just relax in our Bach playing a game or watching your favorite video. Mountain hikes such as the famous Tongariro crossing, or the crater walk on Ruapehu are a short distance away. There is even a croquet and petanque pitch across the road - 3 public tennis courts nearby too.
