FIERY PEAK ECO-COTTAGE: is a unique experience being one of the few places you will find that is off-grid, eco-friendly & wifi free: it does not have electricity. It has solar, lantern, fairy lights & firelight. It offers uninterrupted peace, privacy, romantically decorated open space living with a fireplace & dry wood. It has breath-taking mountain views and star-filled skies (on clear nights). The low price of the accommodation reflects the simple nature of the cottage: eco - toilet, hand washing, simple cooking facilities, yet it is filled with special touches and luxury. The cottage currently has a solar shower however full bathroom facilities and wifi are available to use at the main house (between 7.30am to 9 pm). Please note - that the cottage living/ sleeping open plan space is heated by a logfire - with dry wood and kindling provided. Where possible I will light the fire prior to your arrival in winter. The kitchen and bathroom are adjoining the open plan space but are more of a summer arrangement - full covered in but unlike the cottage not fully insulated - so can be a bit chilly over the winter months. So many guests have enjoyed the unique experience of staying at Fiery Peak Cottage. Here's a sample of what is being said in our reviews: “Let’s just say I’ve stayed at a lot of Airbnb’s...and this was my favourite. If you book here you’ll find yourself amongst the trees in a cute cottage lit by fairy lights. The fire will keep you warm at night and you’ll have the most relaxing evening of your life! 110% recommend staying here, the hosts could not have been easier to work with! Nathaniel from Australia: Aug 2018 "This was probably our favourite night in New Zealand! Kay is great, so accomodating and even had home made breakfast ready for us. The property was extremely comfortable and warm and the stars at night were amazing and filled the sky. Thanks so much Kay!" John from Australia: July 2018 We stayed for a night during our break journey from Christchurch to Queenstown. When we were checking out, we regretted having not stayed a day or two more. Sayantan from England: Dec 2017 We had a WONDERFUL night in this brilliant cottage. We were up for hours playing board games and watching the stars. We couldn’t have asked for more from a night away. We were provided with a lovely breakfast and the cottage is on a fantastic property - we were both very impressed. Sheryl Sept 2018 Cook your own dinner: Simple stovetop cooking (plus all cooking utensils, cutlery crockery, pots/ pans), gas fridge, and a phone charger for guests use in the cottage. We booked two nights at Fiery Peak Cottage. Unfortunately due to alert level 2 restrictions Air NZ changed our flight schedule resulting in us staying only one night. We loved the fire, mountain views, yummy breakfast, comfortable beds, being away from technology and the many thoughtful touches to make the cottage a pleasant stay. Only one comment I felt the kitchen bench space was slightly small but a minor detail. Kay was very helpful with any questions.

We had a lovely quiet night here. Kay's information about the Cottage, and travel directions were very helpful and everything we needed was there. The fire was easy to light and along with the solar lights, gave a wonderful atmosphere to the evening. thanks Kay.

Although off grid this cottage lived up to expectations. Great rural location, lovely views, so peaceful, great night sky. Stove made it cosy and warm, slept like logs in the comfy bed. Lovely helpful hostess. Would do a repeat visit.
