Quail Rest is "Off the Grid" and is supported by solar, gas and a log wood burner. It is approx one and 1/2 minutes walk to the Lake and there is a sheltered mooring for your boat. Views overlooking Lake Benmore and unobstructed views of Mt Cook. It is a two bedroom cottage, bedroom one has a queen and bed and bedroom 2 has a super king bed. No Parties or events please

Great farm tracks that can be explored if you wish to bring your mountain bike or horse to see some great country and amazing views. Lake Benmore is popular for its recreational activities, including fishing, water skiing, kayaking and swimming. 50mins to the Ohau Ski Field. 1 hour drive to Mt Cook village.

It was such a pleasure to stay at Quails Rest - truly one out of the book. Stylish interior and spectacular views !! A wonderful place to recharge and contemplate nature and the good things in life. Also a wonderful alternative to busier tourist spots nearby such as Lake Tekapo. Thank you.

Beautiful location looking out over Lake Benmore. And the cottage was lovely - sunny and cosy. Excellent facilities. We had such a perfect weekend break; we'll be back. Highly recommended!!

My husband and I stayed here on our way south. Whilst it was a few minutes off the main road it was certainly worth the drive. The uninterrupted panoramic views of Mt Cook and Lake Benmore were stunning. The cottage is new and has lovely fittings. Comfy and warm beds and the cottage was so cozy. We could have happily stayed longer for the tranquility of the area. Thanks for a lovely stay.
