Lovely peaceful place to stay. Gorgeous outlook to the farm. Will come back again

The place in itself is absolutely lovely and despite the 2 person size cottage, it contains everything you could need. Just comes with a few boardgames for rainy days as the cottage does have only a card game. The cottage is very cute and modern and the owners really lovely. I was a bit worried about the fact that it was a bit outside of New Plymouth but the access is about 15min away from town and the drive a breeze. W did do a few back and forth for day trip and dinner plans but it was really not an issue. The only thing I would mention for future renters that surprised me when we arrived and that wasn't mentioned in the listing is that there is another cottage attached to this one which I believe is bigger. So the privacy of the place isn't quite ideal at all... From the photos on the website I was hoping for a nature scene from the cottage from the deck (we love having meals outside in the garden and to enjoy the outdoor space) unfortunately our view was not as open as the photos suggest (probably photos from the other cottage) and there wasn't any garden or lawn for us to enjoy. To be honest it was a bit disappointing to be bothered all the time with neighbors as they are literally meters away so everyone hear any conversation you can have, also having them coming and going constantly by the cottage because the access to the second cottage goes through the one we rented. It can become annoying when you try to relax on the deck. I was expecting a bit of privacy and quietness for this trip with my son to be honest so that is definitely something you need to consider when renting this one, especially if you're planning a romantic trip as a couple I feel. I would not rent a place supposedly in the middle of nature to find myself bother by so much proximity and noise from the next door renters, and that was explicitly why I chose this rental over others closer to town. This detail is a bit of a bummer because the outdoor suite is stunning and so enjoyable! I very much love the beautiful taste of the owners regarding the furniture and decoration of the cottage. A big bonus point for the shower too! We had a little walk trying to see the river, we had to turn back half way because of the rain but it was really enjoyable. Love the fresh eggs from the chickens too, a delight!
