Little Akaloa Old Store and Post Office. This historic cottage was originally the Old Store and Post Office. It was built in 1855 but has been extensively renovated and is now a five bedroom holiday house. An ideal retreat for weekends or longer holidays. The house has great views out to the bay and surrounding hills. There is plenty to explore in Little Akaloa; swimming at the beach, tennis, walking the hills, mountain biking or just reading a book. Little Akaloa is situated on the east side of Banks Peninsula, only 70 minutes away from Christchurch and 15-20min drive to Akaroa. The bach is approximately 100m away from the beach, which is sandy and gently sloping making it very child friendly. The bay has an excellent boat ramp facility, tennis courts and a playground.
