A mouse or a few were running around the place. Found the mouse traps which makes me think you already know about it. They seemed to like the sugar sachets that maybe the group left behind? We found a toilet seat was broken off when we arrived. This didn't affect our stay as there were only 7 of us. We had to improvise a little bit on clean up. We struggled to find a good amount of cloths to wipe surfaces down. \ Other than that, our stay was great and it was a good time up the mountain

This is a great space for lots of people. We had our adult children come from different parts of the country and we had an awesome time. 4 bunk rooms meant there were good separate sleeping spaces and it's so close to the snow and many wonderful walks.

What a wonderful place to stay for our group, We covered over 50km's of hiking over the few days we were there and it was a great base to come back to at the end of each day. if you are after flash then it is not for you, but if you are after somewhere to just sleep, Eat and hike then it is perfect. we had 20 of us and loved it. Would be perfect for 2-4 family who wanted to get together to go hiking. Thanks Nev Wells Coach of NewPlymouth Boys/Girls adventure racing
