There you will find a wonderful little museum, Farewell Spit Eco Tour Safaris, grocery store/postal, tavern, MAD Cafe, children's playground, Courthouse Cafe, Sue Dasler Pottery and service station. The Collingwood beach (over 4kms long) is perfect for a leisurely & relaxing stroll, a brisk walk or even a jog. Some wonderful places to visit within a half-hour drive are: Farewell Spit, Whaririki Beach, the Gold Fields, the historic Langford's Store at Bainham on the way to the Heaphy Track. Not to be missed is a visit to the Te Waikoropupu Springs just a couple of kilometres out of Takaka on the way to Collingwood.
