Nestling in a peaceful hilltop olive grove, this luxurious cottage has wonderful views over the vineyards of Marlborough, stretching from the Richmond Ranges to the Wither Hills, and then over the Cook Strait to the North Island in the distance. Harrier Hawks swoop and soar across the valley below, whilst California Quail wander quietly through the surrounding trees. Brookby Ridge Cottage is self-catering for two people and is the perfect venue for some time away from the madding crowds. It has a new, fully equipped, open-plan kitchen and living room, with comfortable sofas that invite you to relax in front of the toasty-warm wood burner. Ranch sliders lead onto the east-facing deck: a great place for a sun-filled breakfast, or a glass of chilled Framingham Classic Riesling (everybody drinks Sauvignon Blanc in Marlborough, but this local winery produces some spectacular Rieslings, which we think deserve some attention!) at day's end as you watch the shadows falling across the valley. A Welcome Hamper & a delicious bottle of Marlborough wine will be gifted on your arrival. The bedroom comes with a king size bed (large double) and premium bedding, ensuring restful sleep, and an electric blanket with dual controls for those cooler nights. The ensuite bathroom is generously sized, with twin basins, a luxurious shower and those modern essentials to make your stay as comfortable as possible. For open-air cooks, we have provided a barbeque on the deck. There is an additional state-of-the-art blow-up bed (18 inches high with an overnight automatic inflating facility) should there be an extra person. Bedding will be provided for this. With plenty of local activities, we would be happy to help you plan your stay. Anything goes, from boating in the beautiful Marlborough Sounds to a guided tour of the region's lovely cellar doors; there's even an irresistible chocolate factory nearby! For fine dining, there are top restaurants and eateries, or you may just wish to curl up on the sofa with a coffee (glass of wine even!) and a good book. There are various opportunities to enjoy luxury days out - sailing on a private yacht in the Marlborough Sounds; helicopter rides; tailored tastings; escorted vineyard tour in a 1985 Land Rover Defender; gourmet lunch - and we would be more than happy to advice/organise these for you. Also guided wine tours, mussel cruises, bike hire - just ask!
