About this Holiday House

Tirohanga beachfront section. 'Trincomalee' is situated just 10 minutes East of Opotiki at Tirohanga Beach on State Highway 35. It has a large north facing deck for barbecues with unobstructed sea views from which you can enjoy both sunrise and sunset. Tirohanga is a a safe family swimming beach (2 minutes walk) with great fishing for surfcasting and contiki launching. Also the Opotiki Dunes Trail passes right past the front of the Bach and the Motu Road Trail. Ride your bike to town for a coffee It is handy to the Motu area for mountain biking, kayaking and jetboating and for exploring the picturesque East Cape. The Tirohanga store and camp ground is only a 5 minute walk away for supplies, great ice creams. Recent renovations have updated this "batch" new Kitchen, 3 bedrooms, new covered deck added and BBQ area, has large parking area/boat/tent in front of the batch

Tirohanga is the gateway to S/H 35 and the East Cape, for great boating, diving and snorkelling trips. There is the Tirohanga store for your day to day requirements, fish and chips and also the biggest icecreams in NZ! The beach is safe for swimming. long walks along the beach and return along the cycle track and also fishing. Enjoy the newly completed cycle way that runs in front of the property. Nearby Waiotahi and Ohiwa Harbour offer excellent shellfish gathering. Views of Whale and White Island which is an active volcano just off the coast. Swimming with the dolphins operating out of Whakatane. Whakatane is only a 40 minute drive away with great cafes and shopping. Visit the Opotiki Museum and you will be surprised at what it has to offer!!

Beautiful spot! Grandkids had a ball! Was great to wake up to the sound of waves and have a morning coffees on the deck. Fishing was good until storm came in but got enough snapper for dinner. Will be back for sure.t
