About this Holiday House

This lovely family bach is situated on the waterfront in the heart of Lochmara West Bay with beautiful views out onto the water. It comfortably sleeps 8 people and provides an idyllic get away location for families or couples. Our bach is a boat only access with boat ramps available at Waikawa and Picton and a private mooring available in Lochmara West Bay. Alternatively there is a water taxi service available from Picton which takes you to the jetty in front of our bach. There are three bedrooms including one bunk room, one bathroom and two toilets and a well equipped modern kitchen. The living areas are spacious with the lounge room leading onto both a front and back verandah from which to enjoy the amazing views.

Fabulous views of Lochmara bay. Access to Queen Charlotte Walkway. Access to Lochmara Lodge walkway or 20 minute walk to Lochmara Lodge. There is also the option of private catering with family style meals and baking that can be delivered ready for your arrival. Please enquire on booking.

Special Attractions and Activities Nearby

Our bach is a short boat ride to Lochmara Lodge, a small resort with a waterfront cafe. The lodge is set in 11 acres of land and has a range of activities including an underwater observatory, animal feeding and use of kayaks and paddle boards. There is a walking track from our bay to the Lodge and the Queen Charlotte Walkway can also be accessed via a track from our bay. There is a fish sanctuary in a neighbouring bay and numerous bays close by where you can moor up and picnic. The Sounds provides access to a range of fishing opportunities and also has some historical sites worth a visit including the old Perano Whaling station and Ships Cove which Captain Cook used as a base for all three of his journeys to Aotearoa New Zealand.
