Nestled in the gardens of the historic Tinui Station Homestead you find Rose Cottage, a delightful self-contained cottage for up to four people. The Cottage features two bedrooms, full bathroom, cosy open plan living area with a wood burner and two outdoor areas. In front of the cottage, you’ll find the spa pool under the stars, as well as room to BBQ and dine outdoors. The side porch opens out into a secluded cottage garden - look up! In summer you’ll find trailing wisteria and climbing roses perfuming the air. The garden and grounds are a sanctuary for birds thanks to over five years of biodynamic practices. More than 30 species of bird have been spotted here. From the Bellbird bringing in the dawn chorus, Tui celebrating the sunset and the Morepork closing off the night, vibrant bird life defines the relaxing backdrop of the Estate. There is much to enjoy here in the tranquil surrounds. The immediate garden area is wrapped by a river-stone wall and home to established trees and flowers to charm you. Discover the bustling orchard of plum, peach, nectarine, pear, apple and citrus. Explore further! You will find the twin oaks that have watched over the Homestead since its founding over a century ago. Each corner of the grounds has its theme, from multiple plantings of native New Zealand plants and trees to the Rhododendron and Australian tree corners. Hot day? Take a dip in the salt-water swimming pool set by the homestead next to hedges and native plantings. The kitchen features all you need to prepare meals.
