Paddy's Pad is a a simple family bach located at the end of Manuka Bay Road with fantastic sea views east and north to the seaward Kaikouras. Gore Bay is just 3 km away along a pretty coastal road. Nearer to home, Manuka Bay is a pleasant walk down the farm track. While Manuka Bay's not a swimming beach, it's a great place for rambling and beach-combing, and has a lovely view south to Banks Peninsula. The Hurunui River Mouth is in the next bay past the southern promontory, and is accessible at low tide. Take the kids rock-hopping in any direction along the shoreline and see seals, penguins, and other wildlife.

Activities in and around Paddy's Pad include swimming, surfing, fishing, walks, tennis, and golf. Cheviot is just 11 km away and has a supermarket, pub, several cafes, and plenty of ice creams for all.

Typical older NZ bach, but modern conveniences, big windows and great views over the sea. Did a number of walks, including the Manuka Bay walkway (was Port Robinson walkway) through lush coastal bush. Pleasant walk from the Hurunni end but the steep Manuka Bay ascent, going the other way, was rather daunting for a retiree. Great place for a relaxing, good value holiday.

Beautiful and peaceful spot. We were lucky with the weather and made use of the BBQ. The bach would also be ideal for a rainy getaway as it has a roomy lounge for games/dvd's/reading etc if you couldn't get outside. Best of all the wood burner if things got too cold. It's a good size bach, there were 6 in our group and we never felt cramped. Also enjoyed the walk along the roadside to Gore Bay. A bit over 6kms return and undulating. Everyone in our group loved the stay. Fantastic value for money. Would love to go back again.

What a wonderful bach in a great location. Penty of space around, and stunning views. We arrived after dark on the Friday night and so the first morning sun views on Saturday were awesome. Will definitely be back.

Really great place to stay! TRaditional Kiwi bach. Good to get away from it all. Loved the beach, the tree with the ladder, the views, the peace, and the children loved waking up to lambs out their window in the morning. Emma was great to... Read more

Walks down to Manuka Bay. Collecting surf clams at Gore Bay and cooking them for dinner. Log burner to keep us warm in the evenings. Dishwasher (hurrah!) and great kitchen.
Would definitely recommend.

Great kiwi style bach! Stayed for a weekend with a group of friends, pretty secluded which was great for our loud music! Lovely views with 3 decent sized bedrooms! Went swimming at Gore Bay which was a 2minute drive away and we also had a gorgeous swim at the Hurunui River which was a 5minute drive away. Quite cheap for what it was and had a lovely new kitchen. Would definitely stay again and highly reccommend!!
