The house is only a short walk from beautiful Wainui beach which was awesome. However, it was an average stay for our group. When we arrived the house was very musty and had to be aired out, windows not suitable for small children as they are very large and open from the floor with a two storey drop, be aware if you have young children you will need to close off the rooms. The back door to the sunroom was broken and heavy and if it fell it could've seriously injured someone. One of our children got black knees from the floor when they were crawling around. We were not aware that the house was on tank water as it does not state in the ad and no prior contact from the owner to let us know to conserve water until we got to the house and read the owners guidelines which can be hard when you have a group of ten which includes young children, had wenknown prior we may have may have found somewhere more suitable. In our room we could hear something scratching and rustling around in the roof - perhaps rats.
Overall we think that this would be a good bachelor pad but for people who have young children I would not recommend staying here as we don't believe it is child friendly or to a standard of cleanliness that you would expect from a holiday home for rent. We also didn't have much contact with the owners at all, I myself had to contact to find out about how to enter the house, I'm unsure if this is how this site manages things but in future I would suggest owners be a bit more hospitable to ensure their guests have an enjoyable stay.
