About this Holiday House

Idyllically located right on the water at one of Northland's most exquisite and quintessential NZ beach locations, right by the Bay of Islands. This is a kiwi bach & bay that will take you right back to NZ the way it used to be. A safe swimming white sand bay, on a summer's day dotted with boatie's ancient tractors. An estuary & lagoon 'designed' for toddler's paddling. Great diving and fishing literally hundreds of metres off this great coastal beach. Scallops, paua & mussels in the vicinity. A surf beach within 20 minutes coastal walk. The Cavalli Islands just 15 minutes boat ride north and the Bay of Islands a similar distance south. Tapuaetahi Beach is a private bay that is never crowded though only 20 mins from the cafes of Kerikeri. The house is a real 60's kiwi bach. Just 25m from the broad veranda to the sea, yet very private. From here you can watch the day unfold, or dine & entertain at the large outdoor table. The house has 4 bedrooms that has frequently hosted 2 families. In the bach you will be comfortable & feel at home. Tapuaetahi is so private it is very hard to find on maps; find a detailed map of Northland, locate the Bay of Islands (BOI), the peninsula at the northern side of the BOI is called Purerua. Tapuaetahi is at the base of the northern side of the peninsula - south of Takou Bay and next to Taronui Bay

A special place, comfortable rustic Bach suitable for families who appreciate NZs beautiful coastline. Great communication with the owner.
Our family of 5 stayed her for 4 nights at the end of Feb 2020 and we had a great stay. House had all that we needed, with a great lawn to relax on and its location on the waters edge provided great access to the sandy beach only 1 min walk away and fantastic views across the water. The estuary is further along the beach and provides safe swimming for children. Tapuaetahi is a favourite place for us and this is now the 5th great home we have stayed at - recommended.

Seriously the most amazing spot you could ask for. Re-living treasured childhood memories in this beautiful place. The bach has everything you could need. Situated on the best spot in the bay - private large section, plenty of outdoor seating, amazing views, gorgeous sunsets - pretty much paradise. The 14pound snapper caught from the kayak was an added bonus. Can't wait to book again. Thank you so much for sharing your gorgeous slice of NZ.
