The Bach in rural Ohauiti has views over farmland to the Mount and Tauranga harbour, as well as the Kaimai ranges. Totally self-contained, this cottage with decks on 2 sides is the perfect spot for a refreshing holiday away from city life, yet just 15 minutes from town. Breakfast provisions are included. The Bach is a 1 bedroom cottage with large carport attached. For longer stays, there is a large extra room with 2 single beds and a desk. A writer's paradise! Or perfect for in between houses. Special Amenities

Wonderful views from north and west decks, with roof for shelter from the sun and rain. Deck chairs and cane table and chairs to relax or eat outside. Small private lawn area. Large carport with external power point for charging electric bikes, and having them under shelter. Plenty of room for bikes.

Ohauiti Reserve 1.5km away with beautiful bush walks by a stream. Mount Maunganui (Mauoa) 232 meters high with walking tracks to the top of this extinct volcano provide 360 degree views. Daisy Hardwick track around estuary with native plants and birds. Bike tracks around suburbs and continuing all the way to Omokoroa, with great scenery. Art Gallery in town. Historic Village 16th Avenue. 45 min from Hobbiton where parts of "Lord of the Rings" was filmed. 45 min to Rotorua with geysers and boiling mud pools. 1 hour to Whakatane... a scenic coastal drive. Shopping Centres: The Crossing, Bayfair, Bethlehem

This is just lovely. Delwyn is the best hostess you could ever find and the Bach is a thoroughly refurbished ultra-comfortable place to stay. A superb deck which will always give access to sun or shade. And a commanding view over Tauranga and Mount Maunganui. I loved looking over to the coming and going of cruise ships with my binoculars. The personal touches that Delwyn adds makes you feel more like a welcomed friend than an anonymous guest. We loved it.
