……
Black Beauty is set on an 800sqm flat section, pet friendly with a rear fenced area for the dogs and has 2 double bedrooms within its 70sqm family friendly holiday home. It boasts an open plan living and a comfortable layout.
The rear deck has a year round covered pergola, so even in the rain and or the beating sun you can leave the doors wide open and enjoy the bbq, deck and outdoor games. All whist splashing out on the bean bags...
How about some soccer, or back yard cricket for the kids... With outdoor games like connect 4, Risk, Jenga, Pétanque, frisbee discs and a new trampoline, along with a variety of indoor games/toys/books for kids both young and old to enjoy.
And how does an outdoor HOT shower sound? Under the stars on a cool night, after a long day in the sun.... Or if you’re not brave enough, then an indoor one is there too.
The house has a flat screen TV, Freeview (bring own SKY decoder if you wish), gas hot water and hobs. Chromecast unit is there for streaming and if WIFI is needed we have plenty of that too.
The house has recently been fully insulated and with the addition of a large heat pump for those cosy winter nights and to cool those hot summer ones.
Parking space galore for the boats, jetski, toys or caravans either in the front yard or the back.
……
Our Kiwi Bach is (not yet..) a 5 STAR but it’s homely, comfortable and a great place to put your feet up! It’s our little family lake house where we take advantage of the local area or base ourselves for activities.
Under Kiwi Bach tradition you are expected to leave house in a fairly tidy condition (as you got it) and do your dishes before you leave (or put in dishwasher and turn it on before departing)
We operate on a BRING YOUR OWN LINEN system to keep costs down for those that would like to. (BYO Towels/tea towels/pillowcases/2x sheets).
We understand for some groups this may not be able to be done (eg MTB trail riders, workers, transiting guests etc) and that is also fine and we can arrange a set of linens/towels for a small fee to our cleaning lady. ($65)
All beds come with quality pillows and duvets provided. And plenty of spare blankets if they’re required. Our Sleepyhead Beds have had rave reviews for quality.
A cleaning fee $65 Per stay is required for a local crew to come in behind and ahead of your stay to ensure clean, tidy and they do our guest reviews.
We are pet friendly, with notice, and charge the pets at the same rate as extra guests. Some platforms don’t allow for this, but can be sorted after booking. This just allows for us to have our cleaner come in behind the pets and have the carpets shampooed and cleaned etc for those next guests next and keep it nice for all who stay.
Smoking outside only. Remove all cigarette butts to the bin, not left on the grounds please.

Our place is within walking distance to the local shops. There is a small grocery store, bakery, cafe, pharmacy and takeaways. The closest petrol station is in Whakamaru, about 5 mins drive.
Approximately 45mins - 1 hour from both Taupo and Rotorua.
Mangakino is a small town located next to Lake Maretai and in the heart of the North Island of New Zealand, in the Great Lake Taupo region. Once a thriving town due to the construction of the many dams in the area and the forestry industry. It is now a small and quiet lakeside village and has become more popular with holiday makers and tourists alike. Mangakino is the perfect place to enjoy the stunning lake and forest scenery, great for water sports, golf, mountain biking and hiking or just a relaxing weekend away.
Have a relaxing summer picnic lunch or dinner on the shores of Lake Maraetai while watching the thrills and spills of the wakeboarders out on the water. The lake also reaches comfortable temperatures for swimming during summer.
You can also hire mountain bikes and kayaks at the lakefront.
The perfect spot for hiking and mountain biking, the Waikato River Trails run both directions along from the Mangakino lakefront.
Going south to the Whakamaru Dam it features a 70 metre suspension bridge across the Waikato River, 4km from the Mangakino end of the trail.
Hiking in the Pureora Forest is also popular, particularly the renowned Timber Trail.
You will need a car to get here. There is no public transport.
Approximately 45mins - 1 hour from both Taupo and Rotorua, and 2.5 hours from Auckland.
