About this Holiday House

This beautifully renovated historic home is over 100 years old and only walking distance to Oamaru's Victorian Precinct and the cafes and restaurants of Oamaru. From the balcony in the Monterey Room you can experience the majestic view over the town and the vast sweep of the Pacific Ocean from Cape Wanbrow sheltering Friendly Bay at the foot of Wansbeck Street and heading North as far as the eye can see. We only accommodate one booking of up to 5 people at a time.

Beautiful home. Very comfortable. Food was just what we needed. We couldn't have had better service from Jenny and Carol was in touch to make sure everything was going well. We would all highly recommend a stay at the Wansbeck. Thank you so very much

This exquisite historic home is THE place to stay in Oamaru. This thoughtfully restored grand old lady is simply gorgeous, with its balcony, sunroom, gardens and sweeping seaviews adding that something extra. The vivid sunrise was an unexpected treat. The Wansbeck is an easy walk to the Victorian precinct, farmer's market, seaside, Steampunk Museum, beautiful gardens, cafes and restaurants (Cucina is outstanding - try the black garlic rigatoni) and all of Oamaru's other attractions. Oamaru is our favourite town in the South Island, and The Wansbeck was our favourite stay on our travels. Carol is friendly, welcoming and a fine cook. Highly recommended - can't wait til our next visit. Thank you Carol.
