About this Holiday House

You are welcome to enjoy our guest accommodation, with your own balcony and Island Bay views. A private entrance tucked in behind our family home takes you to a large bedroom with en suite and shower. Coffee, tea and breakfast is provided for you to prepare at your leisure. A small fridge, espresso machine, kettle, toaster, books, views and natural quiet help you to enjoy a relaxed start to your day, whether you are on holiday or just looking for an affordable work accommodation.

Relax on your own private, sunny deck, surrounded by native forest, to take in stunning sunsets and 180 degree views. Take an easy walk downhill to cafes and restaurants in Island Bay, as well as frequent buses which take you directly to the heart of Wellington. Island Bay also has a post-office, supermarket, pharmacy, two gift stores and several local artist galleries.

Special Attractions and Activities Nearby

Surf at nearby Lyall Bay, walk along the stunning south coast and take in the views or out to Red Rocks where a seal colony is a unique kiwi experience. Wellington itself is worth a week or more of exploring, from Te Papa, our national museum, art galleries, and the water front cafes and pop up stores, to the west coast (Kapiti Coast) walkways and views, Zealandia Eco sanctuary and nearby reserves.

For a last minute booking Kari was so accommodating and such a lovely person. Her place is comfortable and clean and is only about 15mins from the city by car. Has a spectacular view. The room is located away from the main house which gives you lots of privacy and she was always available if we needed anything. Would definitely be back on our next trip to Wellington.

Wellington city was booked out and I needed somewhere to stay while in Wellington on work. 10-15 mins to city, quiet location, good accomodation for what I needed while in Wellington. Great hosts - thank you Kari
